According to court documents, 29-year-old Trayton Ballot was on a three-hour flight from Anchorage to Seattle in January 2025. The victim, a 17-year-old seated next to him, said that she woke up after Ballot rubbed her inner thigh.

GCI’s announcement comes one day after an announcement for a separate project that would bring the same internet speeds to the North Slope community of Utqiaġvik. GCI has several other fiber optic projects in Western Alaska, including in the Y-K Delta, Bristol Bay and Aleutian Islands regions.
